Admissions

The Diploma Program in International Relations is designed to advance Somaliland’s foreign policy and diplomatic capacity by equipping the wider community with rigorous academic training in international affairs. The program is particularly relevant for professionals engaged in policy development, global political economy, and development discourse. Accordingly, admission is open to applicants who meet the following requirements:

• Academic Qualification: Somaliland GCSE (or equivalent) with excellent grades, particularly in English/Literature, History, and Geography, from an accredited institution.
• Prior Diplomas (Optional): Relevant prior diplomas, especially in Arts-based fields, may be considered for entry.
• Application Form: Forms must be collected in person from the Registrar’s Office.
• Recommendation Letters: Two recommendation letters, with at least one from a former instructor.
• Identification: A valid government-issued photo ID.
• Photographs: Two recent, identical passport-sized photographs, with the applicant’s full name clearly written on the reverse of each.
• Entrance Examination: A passing score on the Institute’s entrance examination.
• Competitive Selection: Admission is competitive and limited to a select number of qualified candidates. The Institute’s Academic Commission reserves the right to determine the final number of admitted students based on available facilities and resources.
